Can I change the date my repayments come out?
A:
Yes, however there may be an interest penalty. If you are paying by direct debit we can arrange this for you, however if you are paying by automatic payment you will need to make arrangements with your bank.
Q:
Can I pay fortnightly or weekly?
A:
Yes - on an automatic payment.
Q:
What do I do if I can’t make my payments?
A:
If it is a temporary problem and you are paying via direct debit, contact our Customer Services team and we can make arrangements for you. For payments by automatic payment you will need to make arrangements with your bank – don’t forget to let us know! If it is something more permanent please contact us for options.
Q:
Can I have a variety of payment levels in my contract?
A:
Yes - but this is subject to credit approval.
Q:
Can I use my credit card to pay off my contract?
A:
No - we do not accept credit card payments.
Q:
How do I make my payment to you...can I pay by internet banking?
A:
There are a number of convenient payment options available to you once you have established an agreement with Finance Mitsubishi, making it easier for you to make payments when you need to.
Direct Debit
The easiest way to pay is by setting up a direct debit with your bank. A direct debit authority enables Finance Mitsubishi to debit the payment amount from your nominated account on the payment due date each month. To set up a direct debit, please download the direct debit authority using the link below, then print, complete and send or fax the form back to us to process.
Automatic Payment Authority
An automatic payment authority arranged with your banking institution authorises your bank to make payments on a regular basis from your nominated bank account. To set up an automatic payment plan, please contact your bank. You will need to provide them with our banking details as well as your contract number in order for them to establish the authority.

Q:
Can I claim GST on my contract?
A:
Yes – if your vehicle is used for business use. Under a Business Credit Agreement you are able to claim your GST upfront, whereas with a Flexi-Lease and Business Operating Lease Agreement GST would be claimed on a monthly basis. We recommend you speak with your accountant to confirm this or to discuss which product would be right for you.
Settlement
Q:
Are there any penalties involved with finishing my contract early?
A:
Although there is an expectation your contract will run full term, should you require an Early Termination Quote there are penalties charged. To see how these are calculated, we recommend you refer to your terms and conditions booklet or alternatively contact our Customer Care team for further information. Please feel free to discuss your financing options with your Mitsubishi Motors Dealer.
Q:
Do you send out ownership papers at the end of a contract?
A:
No – ownership papers are obsolete now. Repayment of your contract with Finance Mitsubishi is confirmation of vehicle ownership.
Q:
What happens at the end of the contract?
A:
Business Credit Agreement, Business Operating Lease, Flexi-Lease and Consumer Credit Agreements
When you obtain a final settlement figure from our Customer Care team, you have until your next payment due date to pay the amount outstanding.

In the case of Business Credit and Consumer Credit Agreements, once this final payment has been made, Finance Mitsubishi require approximately 5-7 working days before the security on the vehicle can be released. When the final payment has cleared we release the security interest and you become the legal owner of your vehicle.

For Flexi-Lease customers, you should discuss your end of lease options with your dealer or contact our Customer Care team for additional information.

If you have an Automatic Payment authority set up with your bank it is important to cancel this to avoid any overpayments. If your payments were being made by Direct Debit then we will cancel this arrangement for you.
Business Operating Lease
Prior to expiry of your Business Operating Lease, you will receive a letter from us arranging a convenient time to conduct a vehicle inspection. This inspection is a routine procedure which confirms that the vehicle’s condition conforms with the requirements of the lease, including kilometre usage.

Damage that is not acceptable under the terms of the contract include unroadworthy windscreens and tyres, stained and damaged interior materials, external panel damage and missing fittings. The vehicle’s service history and log books will also be noted.
When the inspection is completed you will be advised of any repairs that need to be made. At this point, you have two options:

1. Return the vehicle with the repairs outlined in the inspection report rectified
2. Return the vehicle in its current condition and pay the damage fee as specified by Finance Mitsubishi

Vehicles
Q:
When do you release the security interest over a vehicle at the end of a contract?
A:
Security is released five (5) days after receiving full and final payment. This is to ensure the funds are cleared by your bank. If you repay your contract in cash, we can release immediately.
Q:
Why do you need to know if my vehicle will be used for business or personal use?
A:
In April 2005 the Credit Contracts Act was replaced with the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act. Under this act we must now distinguish between finance for consumers and finance for business customers as there are different rights for each and this determines which product we would use to finance you. A Business Credit Agreement, Flexi-Lease or Business Operating Lease are used for business use. A Consumer Credit Agreement is used when a vehicle is for personal use.
