Early birds at this year’s Fieldays will likely ignore any worms and flock instead to snap up a limited edition Mitsubishi Triton Charger-X – for the special price of just $49,990 or $499 per month*.
An upgrade of Mitsubishi’s premium GLS model, Charger-X stands at the top of the Triton food chain and only 300 of these impressive beasts will be available during May and June.
“Creature comforts and hard-as-nails performance combine at every step to make Charger-X our most exceptional Triton yet,” says Mitsubishi head of sales and marketing strategy Daniel Cook. “This thoroughbred ute gets the tough stuff done in ultimate style and with go-anywhere capability.”
Premium leather interior with power driver’s seat and head rest embossing create a unique, luxury interior for Charger-X. The interior is topped off by a 7” touch screen featuring satellite navigation and reversing camera. Outside the Charger-X features a unique decal package to set it apart from the pack.
Differential lock combined with Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD system will be a welcome feature for those with an affinity for getting into sticky situations, and set the Charger-X apart from the rest.
Its 2.23m tray is the longest and deepest in its class, with a hefty payload of nearly 1 tonne. Drivers can hitch another 3.1 tonnes on the back and get to work with a grunty 135kW and 437Nm at their disposal.
Triton’s latest 2.4L all-alloy Direct-injection Diesel MIVEC engine delivers torque smoothly at low revs and its excellent power to weight ratio makes this one of the sprightliest drives of its kind. It’s light on fuel, too, at 7.6L/100km.
Featuring Super Select 4WD, Charger-X can be driven in 4WD on the highway for maximum grip and safety. Drivers can easily choose the mode that best suits the conditions: 2H (2WD high range), 4H (full-time 4WD), 4HLC (4WD high range), or 4LLC (4WD Low Range with Locked Centre Differential).
Inside the cab, a 7” touch screen system with integrated reverse camera puts audio and satellite navigation at your fingertips. The keyless operating system, rain-sensing wipers and light-sensing headlamps take care of the details. Meanwhile, if family or employees are on board, the 5-star ANCAP safety rating will provide added peace of mind that the most precious cargo is safely stowed.
Safety features include seven airbags, ATC, ASC, ABS, and EBD. Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution body design, or RISE, provides added protection in the event of a collision. It means that the cabin keeps its shape, while energy of the impact is transferred away. I’d urge anyone interested in snapping up one of these superbly priced Triton Charger-X utes to make a bee-line to the Mitsubishi stand at this year’s Fieldays or to visit their local Mitsubishi dealer. I can guarantee they won’t hang around for long!”
Fieldays is held at Mystery Creek in Hamilton from 15-18 June, vehicles available from 1 May while stocks last.
