If the vehicle ahead slows but you haven't braked, your vehicle will brake autonomously, stopping you if necessary.
Radar automatically matches your cruise control speed to the vehicle ahead by adjusting the brakes or accelerator.
Brakes are automatically applied to maintain your current speed down a hill, letting you concentrate on steering.
If you're manoeuvring out of driveways and carparks, sensors detect and alert you to stationary objects. VRX only. All models have rear parking sensors. Front parking sensors are VRX only.
Passengers or heavier loads are detected and more brake force is applied to the rear wheels to improve stopping distance.
Wheel speeds are monitored and brake force is sent to individual wheels to maintain steering control under heavy or sudden braking.

Outlander PHEV tow weight is specified for use on NZ road network. Private driveways, boat ramps, sandy beaches and other off road settings may limit take off performance. Fuel economy and range figures are based on the ADR 81/02 test for combined urban/extra urban driving. Fuel economy & CO2 figures are calculated to WLT-3P. Please note that actual on-road fuel consumption, emissions and range will vary depending on traffic and road conditions, vehicle load and the individuals’ driving styles.
Prices shown on Triton cab chassis models exclude tray shown. Trays are available at additional cost. 3.5t towing capacity applies to double cab 4WD models only. It is only possible with a 3 axle braked trailer, towball vertical load of no greater than 4% and an approved MMNZ towbar.
Clean Car Rebates may be available on some low emission vehicles for the Clean Car Fund. If the fund is exhausted, rebates will not be paid out until funds are replenished. Once the Clean Car rebate scheme restarts, only vehicles registered from the restart date that meet the eligibility criteria will qualify for a rebate.
